Historical Timeline of The Vampire Community
This Project was started in hopes of building a definitive timeline of the Vampire Community throughout history, we hope to obtain and record any information of the Vampire communities past actions while hopefully recording any actions of merit that will come.
1966 - Anne de Molay establishes the “Order of Maidenfear”, arguably the oldest known vampyric “House” in the world. (find and add more details or link to a relevant article)
1976 - House Sahjaza formed in New York City.
1985 - the founding members of House Sahjaza, under the guidance of Goddess Rosemary form the Z/n Society.
1989 - The secretive; international, Temple of The Vampire (ToV) is founded.
Late 1991 - The first prototype of The Vampire Codex is penned by Michelle Bellanger for use as the instructional text of House Kheperu.
1993 - The sanguinarium is founded by Father Sebastian (Todd) van Houten.
1995 - the Z/n Society comes to an end.
Early 1995 - A special printed version of The Vampire Codex was offered to select students in conjunction with the International Society of Vampires.
Late 1996 - The Black Veil is written by Father Sebastian (Todd) van Houten as a code of conduct for the Gotham Halo’s first Noir Haven, the Long Black Veil, and the members of Clan SABRETOOTH.
Spring 1997 - Sanguinarius.org for Real Vampires is established as a support site for all who considered themselves real vampires. www.sanguinarius.org/vampire.shtml
1997 - The Long Black Veil (LBV) begin to be held at MOTHER on the second Wednesday of each month.
1997 - The Black Veil V1.0 released to the general community, written by Father Sebastian (Todd) van Houten, This early version was presented to the then-forming real vampire community but was met largely with criticism and rejection because of its rather role-play like concepts and language.
April 1999 - vampire-church.com registered.
July 28th 1999 - SphynxCat's Real Vampires Support Page. goes live and has remained running since its launch on various servers and formats over the years. sphynxcatvp.nocturna.org/
2000 - MOTHER closes and the LBV is relocated to True nightclub for 2 years.
2000 - The Black Veil V2.0 "the 13 rules of the community" is released to the general community composed by Michelle Belanger of House Kheperu, Father Sebastiaan (Todd) van Houten of House Sahjaza, and COVICA as a voluntary code of ethics for vampires in the community to follow. The document received mixed reactions once again due to its role-play like wording.
October 2000 - The Vampire Codex, Sanguinarium edition is published by the Sanguiarium Press. The Vampire Codex has a significant impact on the worldwide community of psychic vampires, becoming the fundamental text used by numerous Houses, Orders, Covens, and Clans. It has influenced the teachings of vampire groups throughout the US, Canada, and Western Europe.
July 2001 - Rules of Thumb is compossed by Sarah Dorrance as a list of sensible advice to members joining the community it is avalible here sphynxcatvp.nocturna.org/articles/sd-ruleofthumb.html
October 2003 - The Black Veil v3.0 is created and released to the community, after a review by representatives of the Vampire Church, Bloodlines, the Sanguinarium, and individuals from many other independent organizations gave rise to a second revision of the Black Veil. This version was released a few weeks later. Trimmed down from thirteen and back to seven rules, the new Black Veil was streamlined to remove pretentious and overly "Goth" language to once again increase its appeal to the continuously evolving greater community. The main idea behind this final revision was to express, in plain and simple language, the ethics already innately valued by the majority of that community.
2005 - The Atlanta Vampire Alliance (AVA) is formed as a real vampire house covering the Atlanta area www.atlantavampirealliance.com/
2005 - New Orleans Vampire Association (NOVA) is founded it was established to provide support and structure for the vampire and other-kin subcultures and to provide educational and charitable outreach to those in need. www.neworleansvampireassociation.org/

January 2006 - Voices of the Vampiric Community (VVC) is founded to develop friendly relations among the various Houses, Covens, Orders, organizations, and individual leaders of the vampire community. www.veritasvosliberabit.com/vvc.html
March 2006 - The Vampire & Energy Work Research Survey (VEWRS) is released to the public, 955 members of the community respond.
August 2006 - The Advanced Vampirism & Energy Work Research Survey (AVEWRS) is released to the public, 515 members of the community respond.
23rd June 2007 - The first results of the VEWRS and AVEWRS surveys are released with plenty of pie charts and graphs supplied for data interpretation.
July 2007 - Sanguinox vampire community website goes offline due to both financial costs and trouble between owner and moderators.
2008 - Vampire Community News (VCN) goes live www.facebook.com/groups/vampirecommunitynews
2009 - the Tucson Otherkin Community Group is founded by Sagunarius as a social and support group for vampires, donors, otherkin, therians and Wiccans in and near Tucson, AZ groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Tucson-Otherkin/info
2010 - Real Vampire News is conceived and started by John Reason. The aim is to become a “newspaper” type resource for the online community of real vampires.
2010 - The Atlanta Vampire Alliance and Suscitatio LLC commence a second series of studies to complement the 2006-2009 VEWR’s and AVEWR’s surveys. This effort will reportedly include involve the collection of medical testing and information.
May 2011 - The South African Vampire Alliance (SAVA) is founded as a formalized expression of the South African Vampire Community (SAVC) savampyrealliance.wordpress.com/
July 2012 - Goddess Rosemary and Temple House Sahjaza release the statement entitled "Taking back the night". ( realvampirenews.com/temple-house-sahjaza-taking-back-the-night/ )
October 1 2012 - John Reason’s Real Vampire Life E-Zine begins a year long survey of the real vampire sub-culture entitled “The Living Vampire – A social survey”, aimed at gathering social and demographic information about the sub-culture.
Febuary 8th 2013 - the Synod posts The Official Black Veil (black veil v4.0), this updated version of the long standing document which has had numerous revisions is stated to be final version of the document to be embraced by the Ordo Strigoi vii and the sanguinarium, and is stated to be the only version now accepted by the original author Father sebastian (Todd) van Houten. It has met heavy censure from many prominent members of the Vampire community for its exclusion of Sanguinarians and its overly religious undertones.
September 31 2013 - John Reason’s Real Vampire Life survey, “The Living Vampire – A social survey”,concludes.
